Adrienne  > Pets > Sombra
This little sweetie was saved during a torrential downpour Memorial Day weekend 2005 in the back alley. She was 6 weeks old. I fostered her to about 5 months old and we found her a forever home through savemoreanimals.org.

On the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, we had an unseasonable torrential downpour in Tucson - even worse than some monsoon rains! That night, I heard a cat meowing and meowing and meowing. Finally I went outside to see and a little black kitten romped away from me in the back alley between condos...jumping in and out of puddles, half drowned, and very unhappy. Enlisting the aid of Paulette and Lizzy next door, we tried to catch her but couldn't. An hour later I went back out to see if it was still around and I found it in a vacant backyard, all huddled in weeds, shivering, and looking very sad. So, I took it in, washed her in warm water, cuddled her in a warm towel, and fed her Gerber Lamb baby food.
